I was looking at both cars. The Mazda 3 i SPort and the Mazda3 i Touring Value. I see absolute no difference in the exterior part of the car.

Best Answer: Since they are both mazda 3i, that means that they are both 2 liter, as opposed to the mazda 3s which is 2.3L (the difference is about 10 horsepower.) here is the main differences between the this is what the i sport has that is different than the i touring. No fog lights no dual power mirrors 15' steel wheels (the i touring has 17' aluminum alloy wheels) No cruise control no adjustable lumbar support no leather wrapped steering wheel/shifter knob (manuals only) and it has four speakers, rather than the 6 that come standard in i touring Of course you can add optional features if you prefer. Mazda's are great 1st cars, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
The only problem is that the insurance for a yonng driver in a new vehicle can be astronimical! If you are prepared for high insurance payments, then the mazda is a great car for you. (My first car was a 1987 Ford Escort Station wagon, I got it in 2001, you are much luckier than I am) =). I would definitely recommend a 3 for someoness first car.
Although nothing is a substitute for safe and attentive driving the 3 is built stable and sturdy enough to withstand an accident and keep the driver safe. I actually had the misfortune to get into an accident with mine and totaled it.
I was able to walk away from it completely unharmed. So I bought another one! From my shopping experience the only visual difference between the i and i touring are fog lights, more interior options (colors), and a few cabin features (i.e. Auto diming rearview) but this was for the 2006/2007 models. Annette, When it comes to spending your money, if you don't see a difference their is no difference. It is all in the added name for marketing purposes.
One could assume 'sport' would mean a more firm suspension, wider tires and rims and a pinstripe. Touring would be more tilted to a softer ride maybe a one or two more gadgets and that's it. I am a father, when my daughter is your age she will be driving a Mazda3, the one I am driving 10 years from now.
