Install Free Avast Home Antivirus more. Hi folks, Just made the move to Win10 on an ATG 6430 w/an EPort Plus II docking station. I've used this setup under Win7 for about three years with a pair of monitors connected to the DisplayPort ports. The computer has been getting flakey- development machine, lots of software and driver installs/uninstalls, etc over the past few years.
So after one lockup too many, I decided to try Win10. On a new drive, I first installed Win7 SP1. I installed what I think were all the Dell-specific 6430 drivers, then let Win7 do its updates.
When it was done, I installed Win10 on top of that, then installed the Dell-specific Win10 drivers, and let Windows Update do its thing. Two problems: a) Two of the three USB ports on the side of the docking station are dead (which I could live with, I guess), and b) When I plug anything into either of the DisplayPort adapters, all screens go black with a cursor in one, but nothing else. And that's something I can't live with. Dell's suggested solution is to reinstall from scratch ('nuke from orbit') Win7, then be scrupulous about the Win7-specific driver updates, then do WinWi10, do Win8.1 drivers, and only then the Win10 drivers. Might work, but I've already lost a day at this and am reluctant to lose more.
Any suggestions from the peanut gallery? Is there anyone with an ATG 6430 and an EPort Plus II docking station that can confirm/deny operation under Win10? Click to expand.Hi, thanks for the follow up solution. Question though, what are the 'displaylink' drivers for?
FireFox does not support this feature with a secure connection(https). For the best experience, we recommend using Internet Explorer or Chrome. Dell™ E-Port Plus User’s Guide Model PRO2X. Notes, Notices, and Cautions. Drivers from the floppy or CD that came with the device, and restart the laptop.
Is it specifically for the displayports on the laptop or for the EPort II dock? Did Dell or windows not have equivalent driver, or did they but it wasn't working? Thanks again. *edit: ah, the laptop itself doesn't have display ports except with the EDock?
That may be why Dell's list of drivers for the 6430 didn't have it listed because it is specific to using the Dock? Thanks again for posting your solution.
