V ###################-TROUBLESHOOTING-######################### If you are still getting the 'save game failed, spore will now quit' error, you can try a simple troubleshooting process. Go to%appdata%/Spore/Games/Game0/ and go through and try to open each file with notepad.
Each file should open with a bunch of garbled text, this means the file should be ok. If notepad returns an error, saying the file is corrupted, then the file is corrupted. Make a backup of any corrupted files and replace them with ones from the ~/game0.old/ folder. WARNING: Do NOT edit the contents of any one of the files while they are open in notepad.
Do NOT delete or overwrite any files, make backups. Do NOT remove corrupted a file without making a backup AND replacing it with a clean file from the other folder. MAKE SURE to check that the files in the ~/game0.old/ folder are not corrupted before using them to repair corrupted files.
